- Client: GBC Food Services
- Location: 251 Renner Parkway, Richardson, Texas
- Scope of Work: Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Design
- Energy Code Compliance (COMcheck)
- As-built site scan and validation
- Coordination with client and GC throughout the construction phase
Project Overview
GBC Food Services, a leading provider in the food distribution industry, selected a 40,000+ sq. ft. office facility at 251 Renner Parkway for their new headquarters. Pyra Engineering was brought on board to deliver full MEP design and ensure compliance with Texas energy codes.
Challenges & Solutions
One of the key challenges was the inaccuracy of the existing architectural and MEP drawings. To address this, our team conducted an on-site visit using 3D scanning technology to accurately locate the existing ductwork, light fixtures, and electrical panels.
From that scan data, we developed a precise, site-specific MEP design that reflects real-world conditions — eliminating guesswork and minimizing delays during the buildout phase.
Results
- Accurate and efficient MEP layout tailored to existing conditions
- Seamless coordination with contractors during the construction phase
- Full energy compliance documentation provided (COMcheck)
- Positive feedback from the client, who is preparing to move in by the end of the month
“This is how we work: transforming complexity into clarity with smart, field-driven engineering.”
Site Progress
Our latest site visit confirmed that everything is lining up exactly as designed. We’re proud to see it all come together — and even prouder to support GBC Food Services as they settle into their new space.
